Half Moon Beach is located on the Caribbean Sea (part of South Atlantic Ocean) and it is in the 66th place out of 105 beaches in the Jamaica region 165.9 km away from its center, the city of Kingston. It is one of the beaches of Green Island settlement, just 2.6 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a straight coastline with crystal turquoise water and white sand, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

The beach is a wonderful spot for families, with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Our experience was fantastic, and we particularly appreciated the availability of chairs in the shade, which were comfortable despite being a bit worn. If you plan on snorkeling, it's best to bring your own gear, as the rental equipment is overpriced and in poor condition. It doesn't seem to be cleaned thoroughly between uses. The bar and restaurant are lovely, with prices that are typical for a tourist area. However, the kitchen can be slow, and we waited for about 1.5 hours for our food on a relatively quiet weekday. Despite this, the beach is a great place to unwind and relax.

The beach offers a serene and tranquil atmosphere, perfect for unwinding and rejuvenating. There are no pushy vendors to disturb your peace, only adorable furry friends and attentive staff who provide excellent service.

During our stay at a charming boutique retreat that wasn't situated on the coast, we stumbled upon a hidden gem - a serene and secluded beach that provided the ideal setting for unwinding on comfortable chaise lounges under the shade. The beach also offered a drinks service and a delightful open-air restaurant, making it a complete package for a day out. Additionally, we were delighted by the presence of some amiable dogs that added to the overall experience.

Nestled on the outskirts of Negril, this tropical paradise is a sight to behold. Amidst the pandemic, we visited the beach and were pleasantly surprised to find it deserted. The food was delectable, the beer was refreshing, and the sun was shining brightly. Although the water was a bit rough, we opted not to venture to Calico Jacks. Overall, this beach was a breathtakingly beautiful experience.

Half Moon Beach provides a serene escape from the busy atmosphere of Negril. The restaurant and bar are exceptional, and the Calico Jack Island Bar is a must-visit spot.
