Our hotel arranged transportation to this beach. Local taxi drivers recommended it as the best beach in the area. The beach has a pebble area near the water that extends for about 1-2 meters, and then there is sand. There are plenty of sun loungers available, with prices ranging from 200 rubles for a spot under a shared canopy to 1500 rubles for a large umbrella with 4 sun loungers. Additionally, there is a bar where you can pay using a transfer and several stalls selling corn, sweets, and drinks. We tried the boat at the Mocha Bar fast food joint, and it was delicious. The boat had a generous amount of filling and the dough was not overwhelming. Upon arrival, you will find many taxis waiting at the entrance.
The beach is a pleasant and comfortable spot. It offers a range of affordable amenities like sunbeds, different types of bungalows, cafes, and discos. The prices at the cafes are quite reasonable, and the menu is extensive, catering to all tastes with a variety of wines, beers, cocktails, and chacha. Additionally, you can find fried red mullet at all the cafes, along with a selection of delicious grilled food.
It's a great beach, but if you live in the center of Sukhum, you can only reach it by minibus or taxi. The fare for the minibus is 30 rubles, while for a taxi it starts from 150 rubles. The beach has sandy areas, but the path into the water is rocky with small pebbles. The prices are reasonable, and there are options for food including a bar and a dining room. On average, the bill per person in the canteen is around 500 rubles. The food is fresh, and there is also a nearby seafood section where you can find smoked stingray, which is highly recommended. Additionally, there are changing rooms, toilets, and showers available. If you want to rent a sunbed under a shared canopy, it costs 200 rubles for the entire day. Just be cautious, as the minibuses only operate until 19:00, after which only taxis are available. The sea is clean and not too crowded, so I definitely recommend it.
The beach is fantastic, offering all the amenities one could ask for including a bar, sun loungers, umbrellas, and awnings. Although the beach itself is covered with sand, it does have a pebbly texture. As you make your way towards the water, there are about 2 meters of pebbles. However, the entrance to the sea is gentle and the stones are relatively small, making it easy to get in. It's advisable to wear shoes to protect your feet. While swimming, you might come across Cornerot jellyfish with purple tentacles, but there haven't been any reported incidents of burns from them.
It's a great beach for unwinding and enjoying the sand.
