Plage des Nonnes is located on the Mediterranean Sea and it is in the 5th place out of 52 beaches in the Charente-Maritime region 68.1 km away from its center, the city of La Rochelle. It is one of the beaches of Meschers-sur-Gironde settlement, just 0.9 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place.

It is a long bay with turquoise water and pure bright fine sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is not crowded place during the season.

The beach is small but great for families. It has showers and toilets, and there are shaded areas along the edges. The beach is clean and offers a sailing boat school and boat access to the sea. It is also convenient to park above the beach. The café sells decent food, drinks, and ice cream, which is quite handy.
