This beach is a feast for the eyes with its stunning vistas. It's a haven for the little ones who can effortlessly while away a few hours frolicking in the surf, exploring the underwater world with a snorkel all by themselves, and generally having a blast.
This beach is a stunning and tranquil oasis that offers ample room to lounge and enjoy a delightful picnic or immerse yourself in a good book while gazing out at the breathtaking views of the bay and the majestic waves pounding against the rocks. The beach also boasts some lovely spots for snorkeling, adding to the allure of this idyllic location.
Although the location is stunning, we were unable to locate any designated beach area. It is important to wear appropriate footwear as the terrain is quite rocky and slippery. Additionally, there are two different paths to take, one through the trees and the other along the rocks. We visited in early June and encountered a lot of mud, resulting in many lost shoes. It's worth noting that bug repellent is a must-have.
The beach is simply stunning, with its pristine waters that glisten like diamonds under the sun. As we strolled along the shore, we were lucky enough to spot three graceful sea turtles leisurely swimming in the canal. It was a magical experience that left us in awe of the natural beauty that surrounded us.
Keaukaha Beach's Hilo Breakwater Wall is a beloved destination for fishermen and a thrilling adventure for both locals and tourists alike. The trail spans 4 miles round-trip and features a moderate incline, with street parking available for convenience. Although I only had time to hike a mile each way for my photoshoot, I found the experience to be truly one-of-a-kind. The hike boasted breathtaking views of the ocean and the impressive break-wall, and the early morning atmosphere was serene and tranquil. I had a blast hopping around on the damp lava stones! The area is perfect for a quick break, allowing me to stretch my legs while taking in the picturesque surroundings and the soothing sound of the waves. However, I must caution hikers to come prepared with sturdy footwear and to check the tide and wave conditions before embarking on this trail.
