Nestled adjacent to the Beehive summit trail lies a stunning beach that offers a serene spot to unwind after an invigorating hike. Despite its popularity, the beach retains its natural charm and allure, drawing in visitors from all walks of life. With its picturesque views and tranquil atmosphere, this beach is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The beach offers a picturesque blend of stunning rock formations, lush pine trees, and pristine white sand. Despite visiting in August, when the crowds are at their peak and the water is quite chilly, we still found ourselves thoroughly enjoying our time there. The parking lot was packed, forcing us to park on the side of the street, and even then, we had to trek quite a distance to reach the beach. However, the breathtaking views along the way made it all worth it. It's the perfect spot for those who want to combine a nature hike with a refreshing dip in the ocean.
The sole beach in Acadia National Forest is an exceptional destination to bask in the warmth of the sun while experiencing the refreshing coolness of the Atlantic waters. The sand on this beach is particularly noteworthy, as it consists of 70% finely ground sea shells. Although the beach is petite, it tends to be bustling with visitors. To catch a glimpse of the stunning overlook point on the right, one must navigate through some rocks. During peak weekends, finding a spot to park can be a challenge, as the parking lot is typically full and people resort to parking along the park loop road before walking down to the beach. Restrooms and changing rooms are available for visitors' convenience. This is an absolute must-visit spot in Acadia.
This beach is truly breathtaking. While it may be bustling with people and the water may be a bit chilly, the stunning scenery and impressive waves make it all worth it. Additionally, there's a fantastic spot for climbing on the right side of the beach. However, be prepared for a bit of a challenge when it comes to parking - it may be a bit of a hassle, but the end result is well worth it. Alternatively, you can take a leisurely stroll to the beach and take in the sights along the way.
The beach was alright, I suppose. The views were somewhat interesting, but the area was cramped and overpopulated. The sand felt fine, but the steep slope into the water caused a treacherous current that could easily sweep your children away. We attempted to visit during a less busy time, but even then, it was difficult to capture any decent photos without the hordes of people in the background. Despite all this, I suppose it was tolerable.
