It is one of the beaches of Hilo settlement, just 7.5 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place, among the mountains. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a spacious coastline with crystal turquoise water and black sand, so it is recommended to wear special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. The beach is absolutely stunning with numerous small coves. It offers various activities such as swimming, fishing, picnicking, and barbecuing. Additionally, there are conveniently located clean restrooms near the shelters. Swimmers can enjoy a sandy beach leading into the water, although it's important to note that beyond this artificial sandy entrance, the bottom becomes rocky. It's advisable to bring swim shoes if you have them. You can also spot plenty of little fish and crabs from above the water. The beach is not crowded, and there is ample parking available.

I enjoy spending time at this beach, even when the weather isn't warm and sunny. It offers multiple pavilions with picnic tables, as well as a bathroom and an outdoor shower. This beach is just one of many pleasant ones along this road. If one parking lot is full, I simply drive to the next one.

This beach is small but well-maintained. Due to the Covid-19 guidelines, it was effortless for everyone to maintain social distancing, and everyone was very respectful in doing their part. The scenery was absolutely stunning.
