If you're interested in snorkelling, this is a great spot to check out while on a cruise. Although it's not a sandy beach, the rocky lagoons are still quite beautiful. There are some spots that are easy to access, while others can be a bit tricky. During my visit, I was able to see plenty of fish and even had four sea turtles swim up close to me. The grassy areas are perfect for lounging on a towel without getting sand between your toes. Keep in mind that the water is a mix of sand and rocks, so it's best to wear water shoes. Fortunately, there is a lifeguard on duty and restrooms available.
We visited the beach which has black sand and decided to do some snorkeling. However, in my opinion, this beach is not suitable for snorkeling.
This is definitely a beach worth checking out. The weather was scorching hot and the sun was shining brightly when he visited. One of the great things about this charming, secluded lagoon was that we could sit on the grass without getting too sandy. It's a perfect spot for young kids to swim safely in the sheltered lagoon while still having access to the open ocean. The water was crystal clear and not too deep, and we even spotted some sea turtles.
Carlsmith Beach is my favorite place on Earth... that I have been to thus far. My brother lives in Keauu so when I visit him, he takes us here. I love the peaceful tranquility of the water. The fact that people actually let the turtles chill in their natural habitat is amazing too.
The beach is absolutely stunning! During our visit, we were fortunate enough to witness several sea turtles. Additionally, the beach has unique black sand, which adds to its charm.
