The beach is fantastic, with a vast stretch of sand and sand dunes that provide ample space for everyone without feeling crowded. It is also remarkably clean, which is a huge plus. Additionally, there is plenty of parking available, and a lovely gift shop and restaurant located right on the beach slipway.
I finally understand why many beaches in England don't have sand after visiting this one. The sand here is brown in color, which is different from the usual white sand beaches I'm used to.
The beach is wide and open, providing a great sense of space. It's important to check the weather and dress accordingly since this is an exposed area. If it's sunny, make sure to put on sunscreen and bring enough water. The beach is roughly 4 1/4 miles long, making it ideal for hardcore walkers. If you want to visit Crop Point, drive to the adjacent car park. For a more relaxed day, you can simply wander along the shallow slope to the sea. Another option is to take the South West Coast Path from Croyde to enjoy the flora and fauna and panoramic views on the approach to Staunton Sands, then take the open-top bus back to Croyde. During high season, it's best to avoid the north end of the beach since the car park can get busy. Even out of season, it's a good idea to bring refreshments if you plan to go to Crow Point and walk north from there, as there are no facilities at that end of the beach.
The beach was absolutely stunning, with its soft, brown sand and crystal-clear waters. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it was practically deserted when we visited in late May.
The beach is fantastic and a favorite among surfers, which means the parking lot can get quite crowded. The stretch of sand is extensive, providing ample room for everyone. As you leave the beach, there are numerous trash cans available, making it unnecessary to leave any litter behind. It's even better to take your trash home and recycle it in your personal bins, resolving the UK's litter issue.
