Playa Magdalena is located on the Atlantic ocean and it is in the 2th place out of 178 beaches in the A Coruña region 66.9 km away from its center, the city of Santiago de Compostela. It is one of the beaches of Cardeita settlement, just 0.6 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area, among the mountains. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a long bay with crystal blue water and white sand, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

This beach is an absolute paradise! With plenty of room to spread out on the sand or beneath the shady trees, it's no wonder this spot is so popular. It's the perfect place to soak up some sun and enjoy the sound of the waves.

Cabañas was an unfortunate experience for us. We stayed for 4 nights in a hotel right by the beach, and there were plenty of restaurants and stores nearby. However, the beach and water were not taken care of at all. It was filled with toilet paper, bottles, and the smell of dead fish was unbearable. We were not alone in not wanting to go into the water. We won't be returning to Cabañas due to the fact that it did not live up to expectations.

This beach offers easy car park access, plus nearby toilets that are kept reasonably clean. It's a tranquil atmosphere with lots of elderly couples and families with children, rather than groups of young people blasting music. The only downside is the abundance of pine needles on the sand - but they're easily avoided with a pair of sandals or crocs. The water temperature is neither hot nor cold, making it enjoyable to swim in. All in all, a great beach experience.
