This location near Vigo, Spain in the Galicia region may be beautiful, but it's hidden for a reason. The town is small and peaceful, but it's not the kind of place you'd want to stay for too long. If you're looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this might be it - but don't expect too much from it.
Praia de Menduíña is a beach situated in the center of the Aldán estuary, just across from Praia de Pinténs. It's a small, secluded beach, a measly 300 meters long, with grainy sand and icy, crystal-clear water, with rocks on either side. It's a quiet beach that gets packed in the summer. Parking space is limited. It's pretty enough, but it's not worth the effort. It's one of the best beaches in the area, along with Pinténs and Melide, but I'm not a fan of beaches that aren't flat for swimming; you take two steps and you're already submerged, like this one.
This place is a great option if you're looking for a more local atmosphere than what's available near Vigo. The sand is lovely, and there's a mix of rocky and sandy areas on either side. I had the chance to go snorkeling here and the water was so clear I could spot every tiny fish. On a separate visit, the water wasn't quite as clear due to Mare de Fondo, which was affecting the whole region. For drinks, you can either go to a small beach bar that only takes cash, or a larger restaurant with some amazing cocktails. Parking can be a bit of a headache if you don't arrive early, but there's plenty of space along the road past the beach, and the walk isn't too bad.
A real sight to behold! The view is truly awe-inspiring and the water is as clear as crystal. There are even showers right by the parking lot. The only downside is that the parking area is quite limited.
Praia Menduina is the perfect spot to unwind and take in the sunshine. The heat is just right and it's just the spot to relax and enjoy the day.
