The beach is absolutely pristine, with its soft sand and lush vegetation just a short hike away for those who are interested. We were pleasantly surprised to find coconut water available for just a dollar, and the lady even kindly removed the husk so we could enjoy the coconut. It truly was an incredible experience!
The beaches are absolutely stunning, and there are some lovely trails that wind through the forest. We decided to take a tour from Isla Colon, which cost $30 per person, and we had an amazing time. Without a doubt, this beach is the most beautiful one we've visited in Bocas del Toro, with its crystal clear water.
We visited this beach as part of a guided tour, so let me share my experience. Keep in mind that your experience may differ, but our boat ride to the beach was quite bumpy (possibly due to rough seas that day). It was a Saturday, and the main beach area was bustling with hundreds of visitors. However, if you walk for about 20 minutes, you can reach the other side of the island, which is a bit more tranquil. We were lucky enough to spot a sloth in the trees, which was really cool. It's important to note that there are no vendors here, so make sure to bring your own drinks, food, and any other beach essentials. However, you can access the bathrooms for just 50 cents. Perhaps the weekdays offer a quieter atmosphere? Overall, if you have an extra day in Bocas, it's probably worth paying this beach a visit.
Cayo Zapatilla 2 typically has fewer visitors compared to Zapatilla 1, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere for a leisurely afternoon on the pristine white beaches and crystal-clear waters of this island. It's important to note that these are remote islands, so there are no restroom facilities or restaurants available.
The island is really beautiful, but it mainly caters to day tourists. As a result, the eastern beach tends to be quite crowded.
