The so-called coastal path from Katelios is nothing but a treacherous route that only the most intrepid hikers dare to traverse. While it may offer a few glimpses of the ocean, the path is hardly accessible for the average beach-goer. However, for those who do brave the journey, the views are undeniably breathtaking.
This pristine beach with crystal clear waters that are ideal for both swimming and snorkeling. Its natural beauty remains untouched, making it a sight to behold.
Out of all the sandy shores we explored along the southern coastline of Kefalonia, this particular beach stood out as the cream of the crop. Although it may not boast the pristine white sands of other beaches, the quality of the swimming experience truly sets it apart - the waters are calm and warm, with stunning views of the mountains in the distance. The sand is soft and velvety underfoot, with only a short stretch of rocks near the shoreline. The beach is very easy to reach, as you can either drive directly to it or take a leisurely stroll down a gentle, non-rocky path. When we visited in late August, between 1-3pm, we found that the beach was mostly occupied by friendly, older locals who were enjoying the water and the peaceful atmosphere. It was the ideal location for us, as we were seeking a relaxed and tranquil environment without any rowdy party-goers. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this beach to anyone seeking a serene and picturesque seaside getaway.
Although not my top pick on the island, this beach is truly lovely. Kefalonia boasts a plethora of stunning beaches, so it's important to keep that in mind when comparing them. Families will appreciate the calm and shallow waters that extend far out into the sea. Additionally, the beach is accompanied by the charming and traditional resort of Katelois, which is home to many laid-back shops, cafes, and restaurants.
The shoreline is slender, with serene aquamarine waters that gently lap against the shore without any turbulence. The beach is a blend of soft sand and rough rocks, providing a unique texture to the landscape.
