Stefanos Beach is located on the Sea of Crete (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 242th place out of 478 beaches in the Crete region 136.2 km away from its center, the city of Kastelli. It is one of the beaches of Chordaki settlement, just 2.8 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place with very picturesque views, among the mountains, surrounded by the cliffs.

It is a tiny bay with crystal turquoise water and bright sand, so it is recommended to wear special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

Stefanos Beach coast is free for all. It has no amenities, only nature. .

In addition to swimming and sunbathing, you can also take part in other activities.

Not everyone can get to this beach. To reach it, you have to follow a dangerous mountain path, not recommended for children and elderly people. Parking is located at some distance, within 300 meters.

The beauty of this beach cannot be fully captured in pictures. It's definitely worth the short hike to get there, but make sure to wear sturdy sneakers as you'll encounter some rocky terrain. Plus, the golden sand is an added bonus.

Initially, we were hesitant to visit this petite beach, but we are grateful that we did not miss out on this gem. From a picturesque standpoint, it is the most stunning beach in Crete. However, it is more of a one-time visit, akin to a sightseeing experience. The breathtaking view, vibrant hues, and crystal-clear waters will leave you spellbound. To avoid the crowd, it is advisable to arrive early and plan to spend only an hour there, rather than the entire day.

This exquisite beach may be small, but it is a hidden gem that is worth discovering. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and would highly recommend it. However, during the peak summer season, it can become quite busy with tourists. If you plan on visiting, keep these three things in mind. Firstly, the road leading to the beach is narrow and winding, so you must drive with caution. It's not impossible, but it does require careful attention. Secondly, the hike down to the beach from the parking area can be challenging, so it's best to wear appropriate footwear. Sandals are not recommended for this hike, but don't worry, it's not too strenuous. Lastly, it's best to visit in the first half of the day as the sun starts to disappear behind the cliffs in the afternoon. Overall, this beach is a must-see destination that promises an unforgettable experience.
