Voulismatos beach is located on the Sea of Crete (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 7th place out of 478 beaches in the Crete region 17.2 km away from its center, the city of Kastelli. It is one of the beaches of Istro settlement, just 0.7 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area, among the mountains.

It is a small bay with crystal turquoise water and brown fine sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

Voulismatos beach coast is free for all. This beach has the following amenities, loungers and umbrellas, beach restaurant, changing rooms, toilets. There is also possible to take different water activities such as catamarans or jet skis. During the season this beach line is supervised by a lifeguard.

During our trip around the northeastern part of the island, we made a stop at this beach during the off-season. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we had the entire place to ourselves. The concrete stairway leading to the beach was easy to navigate, although it was somewhat obscured from the parking lot. The beach itself was clean and the water was crystal clear, with a breathtaking view that left us in awe.
