The beach exudes a serene and pleasant atmosphere, with crystal clear waters that are simply breathtaking. However, what truly caught me off guard was the rocky enclave situated nearby, which was not mentioned in any of the information I had gathered beforehand.
This beach is truly exquisite, boasting a plethora of restaurants in its vicinity. Cabins are conveniently available for changing clothes, adding to the convenience of your visit. The water is crystal clear, displaying a stunning turquoise hue. It's important to note that small fish may be present, and they may nibble on you, so be cautious. Lastly, it's best to avoid renting a sunset set as it may cost you a whopping 30€ per day. Instead, opt for Agia Marina Beach Canteenery, where it's a mere 5€. Overall, I highly recommend this beach for a truly memorable experience.
This wonderful family-friendly beach, Stavros Beach, proved to be a perfect hideaway from the windy weather during our visit. The natural harbor and the mountain's protection provided a serene environment that allowed us to enjoy the beach without any disturbance. Although the price of €25 for an umbrella and two loungers seemed a bit steep, the beach's organization and the restaurant's drinks and food service made it worthwhile, especially since we had a small child with us. The beach was one of the cleanest we have ever visited during our trip to Crete, with pristine sand and crystal-clear water. It's an ideal spot for families as the waves are minimal, and the few rocks on the water's entry are not enough to require wearing shoes. Overall, we had a great time at Stavros Beach and couldn't help but compare it to other beaches we visited during our stay.
Initially, we were somewhat apprehensive about visiting the beach due to the mixed reviews we had read. However, upon arriving at approximately 6pm, we were pleasantly surprised. The beach was not densely populated and the temperature was simply amazing, with the water being warm and inviting. In fact, it resembled a pristine swimming pool. The picturesque scenery was breathtaking and it has certainly earned a spot in my top 3 list of beaches. The only drawback was the presence of a few rocks that needed to be avoided when entering the water.
Although the water may be pleasant, the beach itself is quite diminutive. The umbrella provided was of such poor quality that it failed to offer any shade or protection from the sun. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this location. It is important to note that the cost for two sunbeds and an umbrella is a steep 25 euros. This seems like a significant amount of money to spend on a less-than-impressive destination. In fact, just 8 kilometers away, there is a much nicer beach available for only 10 euros.
