This beach is truly a paradise on earth! It's incredibly serene and pristine, with natural palm trees providing ample shade. It's worth noting that this beach is a virgin beach, meaning there are no amenities available.
This serene beach offers a tranquil escape with its pristine sands and gentle mix of fine gravel. It's conveniently located near the Minoan Ruins, with free parking available for visitors. While the near shore area can be slippery, water shoes provide easy access to the clear waters, where snorkelers can explore the sea life around the rocks and crevices. And for those seeking respite from the sun, natural palm trees provide a shady spot to relax and unwind.
Although it's a bit of a trek from Sitia, this beach is definitely worth the journey. While Sitia was cloudy and blustery, this hidden gem was protected from the elements and basked in the sun. The sand is a soft yellow hue and slopes gradually into the water with barely a wave in sight. The crystal-clear water is simply stunning and the sandy shore is adjacent to an intriguing archaeological site. Despite being nearly empty, we did visit in late May. You can easily park nearby, but be aware that there are no amenities available, so pack a picnic and plan to spend the whole day.
