Vathi beach is located on the Sea of Crete (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 398th place out of 478 beaches in the Crete region 8.7 km away from its center, the city of Kastelli. It is one of the beaches of Tsifliki settlement, just 1.5 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place, among the mountains.

It is a tiny bay with crystal blue water and brown sand & rocks cover, so it is recommended to wear special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, hikers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

Vathi beach coast is free for all. It has no amenities, only nature. .

This beach is far from ideal; it's unclean and not suitable for swimming. Boats that dock there should do their part to help clean it up.

This beach is great for swimming and I had a great time there. However, it's not particularly attractive, which is why I'm only giving it three stars. It's mainly used by tourists for the Spinalonga tour.

I'm not sure how this place earned so many 5 star reviews. It's a bit of a stretch to call it a beach. The sand is mostly mud, ants, and sheep/goat droppings, and you have to climb over some large rocks to get to it from most of the boat moorings. There wasn't any easy way to get into the water. As others have mentioned, the shoreline is full of sharp, slippery rocks. The view is quite nice, but if you're looking for a secluded beach, I'm sure a local guide could find you somewhere much better.

We had a great time, but the path to the beach from the boat was quite rocky. Once we got there, the beach was a bit of a letdown - it was mostly pebbles and uncomfortable to walk on, so it's best to wear beach shoes.
