Kolokitha beach is located on the Sea of Crete (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 173th place out of 478 beaches in the Crete region 9.2 km away from its center, the city of Kastelli. It is one of the beaches of Schisma Eloundas settlement, just 2.8 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place with very picturesque views, among the mountains.

It is a short straight coastline with crystal turquoise water and pure bright fine sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, hikers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

Kolokitha beach coast is free for all. It has no amenities, only nature. .

In addition to swimming and sunbathing, you can also take part in other activities.

To get to the beach, you need to drive along a dirt road about 2km long. Parking is located at some distance, within 300 meters.

This beach is small but incredibly stunning, with its soft white sand and scattered large stones in the water. It has a wild feel to it, with ruins nearby, but the water is calm and crystal clear. While I personally preferred the larger beach nearby, this one offers a more intimate experience.

This beach was an absolute delight! The water was crystal clear and pleasantly warm, and the seclusion was a major plus. Although the arrival of boat trips can cause a bit of congestion, they typically depart within an hour, leaving behind a serene atmosphere. The beach is a prime location for snorkeling and swimming, and the surrounding peninsula is breathtakingly beautiful, making it an ideal spot for trekking. 🌸

Although it required a bit of effort to reach, this location is absolutely stunning. Although it may not be a traditional beach, the water is crystal clear and perfect for swimming. Additionally, the area is great for hiking and exploring. To avoid the crowds, it's best to arrive early.

This beach is absolutely stunning! However, the journey to get there by car can be quite challenging as the road is narrow and can only accommodate one vehicle at a time. The trail leading to the beach is not too long, only around 10 minutes, but it's advisable to wear sneakers as you'll need to walk back up. It's also essential to bring your own towel, food, and drinks, as there are no facilities available on the beach. Alternatively, you can opt for a boat tour to reach this area, which is worth considering. The ocean is peaceful, and the water is crystal clear and shallow. The sand is immaculate and soft, making it perfect for a leisurely stroll. However, there isn't much space to sunbathe, and you may encounter some bees. So, don't forget to pack your snorkeling gear!

A charming little beach awaits you, accessible by car and a brief ten-minute stroll. The sand is a pristine white, and the water is nothing short of marvelous. However, due to its petite size, it's highly probable that the beach will be bustling with visitors. Don't expect to find any sun umbrellas or food and drink establishments, so be sure to pack a picnic. If you visit in late October, you'll be pleased to know that the water remains relatively warm, making it perfect for a refreshing dip.
