Golden Sand beach is located on the Thrace Sea (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 25th place out of 185 beaches in the Thrace region 69.1 km away from its center, the city of Komotini. It is one of the beaches of Chrysi Ammoudia settlement, just 0.1 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area, among the mountains.

It is a spacious coastline with crystal turquoise water and white fine sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, families with children, seniors etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

Golden Sand beach coast is free for all. This beach has the following amenities, loungers and umbrellas, beach restaurant, changing rooms, showers, toilets. There is also possible to take different water activities such as catamarans or jet skis. During the season this beach line is supervised by a lifeguard.

Although the beach was bustling with activity even at 6pm, it was a delightful expanse of sand that boasted crystal-clear, tepid waters. The area was immaculately maintained, making it an ideal spot for families with young children to frolic and play.

The beach offers a pristine and unspoiled atmosphere with a glistening, sun-kissed shoreline and crystal-clear waters. The sea is shallow for approximately 100 meters, making it an ideal spot for leisurely dips and safe swimming. Visitors can indulge in refreshing drinks and snacks, thanks to the convenient beachside service. To avail of the complimentary sunbeds and umbrella, a minimum order of €8 worth of beverages is required.

Without a doubt, the most exceptional beach on Thassos can be found here. The sand is of the highest quality, resembling the shape of an hourglass, and the beach itself is spacious and free of stones. Additionally, there are numerous restaurants and taverns situated in the vicinity. During our vacation, we were fortunate enough to be accommodated in the area and spent the majority of our beach days here. In comparison to other beaches on Thassos, none can compare to the magnificence of this one. However, the only downside is that the sun sets behind the mountains earlier than in other areas of the island, reducing the amount of time one can spend on the beach by approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

Ah, the beach. A place where you can soak up the sun and let your worries drift away. This particular sandy haven is not only safe, but boasts an abundance of sunbeds for all your lounging needs. The bars that operate said sunbeds provide top-notch service, and are as friendly as can be. And let's not forget about the water - while it may not be the warmest at first, after a jaunt of about 50 yards, it's just right. So come on down and enjoy the beach life, my friends.
