I would give this beach a 3.5-star rating, based on my experience. On the plus side, there is a toilet available, which is a rare find. Additionally, there is a bar and shop located near the surf school and toilet, and parking is free. The beach is about a 100-meter walk from the parking area, depending on where you park. However, in my opinion, this beach is not ideal for surfers due to the lifeguard rules and limited areas for good waves. Only body boards are allowed within 50 meters of the supervised area between the yellow and red flags. While the lifeguards do move the flags to cover the area of best waves, they advised me to use a different beach further down for surfing. Additionally, there are many stones of various sizes on the beach, which can be painful for both kids and adults while playing, walking, or swimming. The other beaches further south along the same strip have fewer stones but no toilets. Overall, if you are not a surfer and do not have young children, this beach is excellent, and I would rate it five stars. As others have mentioned, the nearby 'Plage de Chaucre' is also very good, but there are no toilets available.
The beach was immaculate and even though it was crowded, there was still ample space to enjoy quality family time.
This beach is absolutely stunning with its long stretch of sandy shoreline and picturesque views. We arrived early in the morning and had no trouble finding a parking spot even at peak times. The water temperature was perfect for cooling off in the hot sun and the beach was still clear before the crowds arrived. It's a great spot for families with clean toilets, although it's always a good idea to bring your own loo roll just in case. The bar is decent, but the food options are pretty basic and overpriced. We opted to bring our own snacks and drinks from the supermarket instead. However, they do have a good selection of wine, kid-friendly drinks, ice cream, and draft beer.
This beach is fantastic. Unlike other beaches in the area, the tide only recedes about 10 meters. The sand is mixed with some stones, but overall it's an amazing spot.
This beach is great, but I'm not sure if I should recommend it. It's nice to keep it kind of secluded from the mass tourism on Oleron. But, between you and me, it's the best beach in the region.
