Sandy Beach is located on the Pacific ocean and it is in the 53th place out of 282 beaches in the Hawaii region 19.1 km away from its center, the city of Honolulu. It is one of the beaches of East Honolulu settlement, just 4.6 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area, among the mountains.

It is a spacious coastline with crystal turquoise water and pure bright fine sand, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

I would choose Makapu Beach over Sandy Beach for a few reasons. Firstly, there are fewer people which makes for a more peaceful experience. Additionally, the view is just as good, if not better than Sandy Beach. Not to mention, the beach has a lovely breeze and the tides are gentle and calming. One thing to note is that Makapu Beach has better and easier parking accessibility and there are more surfers here. Oh, and did I mention the golden fine sand? It's a beautiful touch to an already wonderful beach.
