This beach holds a special place in our family's heart. We're happy to see that people from all over the world can come and enjoy it too. It's been featured in many movies and TV shows. The beach has a lot of history for us, with my Grandfather owning a trailer park here in the 50s and my Dad growing up here. The feeling of pride and joy we get when we visit is indescribable. Sycamore Beach will always be dear to us.
Looking for a serene day at the beach without the hustle and bustle of crowds? Look no further than this hidden gem! With minimal foot traffic, you can enjoy your own private oasis complete with picnic tables and small trees providing much-needed shade. And if you're not keen on camping at the nearby campground, don't worry! Simply pay the $10 parking fee or check out a park pass from your local library to cover it. Not only will you have a peaceful beach day, but you'll also be supporting your community libraries. Win-win!
The beach was absolutely stunning! My husband organized a small gathering for my birthday and the setting was simply breathtaking. ❤️ Spending time with my loved ones was so enjoyable. However, the parking was a bit of an inconvenience as the lot closes at sunset and you are forced to park across the road. It can be a challenge to cross the road in the dark while carrying your belongings. Unfortunately, I have to deduct one star due to the frustrating parking situation at sunset.
Ah, the beach. A classic destination for those who love to bask in the sun, enjoy a picnic, or just soak up some nature. This particular beach boasts ample parking, numerous picnic tables and grills (some even in the shade!), and is an ideal spot for a party or family outing. And let's not forget about the hidden gem - a small pond that is simply stunning when the tide is low. However, I must say that I was disappointed with the state of the restrooms during my recent visit. Despite being there on a Sunday morning, the porta potties were in dire need of attention. They were dirty, overflowing, and had no toilet paper. The smell was truly unbearable. Come on, beach management - let's keep those restrooms clean!
It's a decent beach, but the parking situation is not great as it closes at sunset. However, there is a campground across the road where you can park. Although they also close at sunset, we were able to stay until 10:30 without any issues as the camp ranger had left by then. The beach itself is open 24/7, but just not the parking area. Be aware that they will tow your car if you leave it there overnight since the ranger station is situated nearby.
