I find myself enamored with this beach all year round - be it summer or winter! During low tide, it offers a vast expanse of sandy terrain to explore. Although high tide may limit the available beach space, it doesn't detract from the mesmerizing walking experience. Additionally, ample parking and public restrooms make this beach a convenient option. Its proximity to the town center and abundance of nearby shops further add to its allure.
Experience the refreshing ocean breeze and observe the wildlife while strolling along the sandy shore. The charming Ogunquit community boasts delightful shops, welcoming merchants, and a hospitable atmosphere.
This beach is an absolute gem, comparable to the Mayflower Beach in Cape Cod. Sure, the water may be a bit chilly, but we're in Maine, so we won't hold it against them. Don't forget to bring inflatables for the kids to ride the river, which is a blast when the tide is in. They can ride from the ocean mouth all the way under the bridge and back to the sand flats. It's like a lazy river ride, but with more excitement! When the tide is out, the beach is massive, almost too big to handle. But hey, we're not complaining about a little extra exercise. Just make sure to get there early, like 9 AM early, to snag a parking spot. We went on a cool Saturday during Labor Day weekend and barely got a spot. Unfortunately, we have to subtract one star because getting out of the beach is a nightmare. The roads converge into a chaotic mess with no streetlights, and traffic is at a standstill. People ignore stop signs just to escape the madness. But hey, at least the beach is worth the hassle.
This beach is absolutely stunning. During our Sunday drive back from Acadia, we made a stop here and were pleasantly surprised by the lack of parking issues despite the crowds. It's the perfect spot to cool off in the Atlantic during the summer months, although the water may be a bit chilly. I highly recommend adding this beach to your Maine itinerary.
This expansive beach is truly remarkable! Although the water may be chilly, the overall experience is exceptional. Conveniently located parking and public restrooms make it a hassle-free destination.
