The shoreline boasts a pleasantly level terrain, making it an ideal location for engaging in various seaside pastimes. It also serves as a prime spot for scouring the sands for charming shells and captivating starfish. However, locating a suitable parking space can present a bit of a difficulty.

Upon my visit to the beach in 2021, I encountered some obstacles that hindered my experience. Unfortunately, the ramp onto 2nd street had been damaged by hurricane Ian, causing it to be closed for repairs. As a result, parking was limited and overcrowded, making it difficult for me to find a spot. To my dismay, I was unable to access my car due to the close proximity of other vehicles. Despite these setbacks, I still managed to enjoy the natural beauty of the beach and its surroundings.

This location is perfect for parking your car and taking a leisurely stroll along the sandy beach or pier. The cost is reasonable, at just $3 per hour or $15 for the entire day. However, it was disheartening to observe the abundance of litter scattered beneath the pier. It's a shame that humans have not taken better care of this natural wonder.

The beach is a wonderful spot to bask in the beauty of the sunrise. With approximately 10 public parking spaces available on each street, accessing the beach is a breeze. To catch a glimpse of the sunrise, it is recommended that you arrive at least 30 minutes prior. Surf fishing is also a popular activity among visitors. This beach is the nearest access point from Georgetown, SC. Regrettably, there are no public restrooms or freshwater showers nearby, and it would be advantageous for the municipality to consider installing them.
