South beach at early morning is a peaceful and serene place with nobody around. It's perfect for those who enjoy a quiet morning stroll or a refreshing swim in the golden sand beach. However, the only downside is that it can get crowded with people who love their morning swim.
We chose this beach for beach volleyball and it was fantastic. The sand by the huts was incredibly soft. As you get closer to the sea, the quality of the sand does decrease slightly, but it's still nice and sandy. The water is shallow and calm, making it easy to wade in. There are some entertainment options available as well. The huts are conveniently located right next to the car park. The toilets were out of order, but there were temporary ones set up outside. Even on a busy bank holiday, the beach wasn't too crowded.
Lowestoft South Beach is conveniently located just a short stroll away from both the train station and the town center. The beach boasts a lengthy promenade with ample benches where visitors can sit and enjoy the stunning views of the North Sea. In addition to the breathtaking scenery, there are also several seafront businesses selling delicious treats such as fish & chips, ice cream, and hot drinks. To top it off, the beach has golden sand that adds to its beauty.
This beach is absolutely stunning and has quickly become my new favorite spot. It's peaceful, with a few restaurants and shops that add to the beachy vibe. The sea is pristine and the walk along the beach leading into town is lovely. If you continue walking, you'll come across a pavilion, pub, and eventually the town center. It's worth noting that Lowestoft is the most easterly point in the UK, and the sunrise here is absolutely breathtaking.
This is a wonderful beach, it's impeccably clean, well-designed, and feels very safe. I really enjoyed strolling along the promenade, which has separate lanes for cyclists and pedestrians, and there are plenty of bins for disposing of rubbish. The beach itself is fantastic, with options for both pebbly and sandy areas. It's well-maintained, and the lifeguards are easy to spot as they patrol the water. They use a flag system to indicate where it's safe to swim, which is reassuring. There are plenty of dining and drinking options along the seafront, and they're reasonably priced. There's ample parking nearby, with some spots that require payment at a meter or through Ringgo, and some free spots if you're willing to walk a bit. The atmosphere at the beach is very relaxed, and there are lots of people having a great time. It's clear that this is a beach that's well-respected and well-cared-for. The only thing that I felt was missing was the ability to walk along the pier. Other than that, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
