The beach near the Daughter's Palace, known for its crowds, can get quite busy. While there is no fee to enter, you will have to pay for a sun bed or umbrella. The beach provides a variety of water sports, including Jet Skis, banana boats, cycle boats, and Parasailing. We opted for a cycle boat, which costs 150 TL per hour, and took a refreshing dip in the sea after cycling to the palace.
The Mersin and Erdemli municipalities have unfortunately failed to preserve the natural beauty of this historical beach. Despite having visited this place since childhood, every time I return, I am disheartened to see its deteriorating condition. One must tread carefully to avoid coming in contact with the litter floating in the water, which is not only unsightly but also repulsive. The lack of service and security personnel is alarming, as evidenced by the incident where a foreign tourist's child went missing while the parents were trying to shower, and no one was available to help. The frequent announcements of robberies in the area only add to the already tense atmosphere, making it difficult to relax. To make matters worse, even the air one breathes comes at a cost, with small business owners trying to extract every last penny from tourists. In conclusion, while it may be worth stopping by for a quick photo, it is best not to waste one's time and move on to other destinations.
The beach features a stunning view and is easily accessible. In close proximity, you'll find a plethora of shops and cafes to explore. Renting an umbrella or deck chair ranges from 40 to 100 TY, and there are friendly crews available to serve you refreshing cold drinks or beer. Unfortunately, the beach is not well-maintained and is often littered with cigarette butts and discarded bottles.
The beach offers a great view of the greenery and is quite bustling. You have the option to take a dip in the water. The food at the majority of the restaurants is decent, but the top pick is the restaurant at the gold hotel.
The beach offers a nice scenery, but the water quality isn't great. [💜💙]Seaside🌊
