Ponta Negra Beach is located on the South Atlantic Ocean (part of Atlantic ocean) and it is in the 108th place out of 375 beaches in the Rio de Janeiro region 151.1 km away from its center, the city of Rio de Janeiro. It is one of the beaches of Sono settlement, just 3.2 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area, among the mountains. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a small bay with crystal turquoise water and pure bright fine sand, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal.
