Galhetas Beach is located on the South Atlantic Ocean (part of Atlantic ocean) and it is in the 344th place out of 375 beaches in the Rio de Janeiro region 151.6 km away from its center, the city of Rio de Janeiro. It is one of the beaches of Sono settlement, just 2.8 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place, among the mountains, surrounded by the cliffs.

It is a small bay with crystal turquoise water and bright sand & rocks cover, so it is highly recommended to wear special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, hikers etc. It is not crowded place during the season.

Galhetas Beach coast is free for all. It has no amenities, only nature. .

In addition to swimming and sunbathing, you can also take part in other activities.

To get to the beach, you need to walk along a mountain trail more than 1km long. Parking is located at some distance, within 300 meters.
