Playa Poniente de Almerimar is located on the Alboran Sea (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 53th place out of 105 beaches in the Almeria region 33.9 km away from its center, the city of Almeria. It is one of the beaches of Almerimar settlement, just 1 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area.

It is a long bay with blue water and light fine pebble, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is quite sharp. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is not crowded place during the season.

Playa Poniente de Almerimar coast is free for all. This beach has the following amenities, loungers and umbrellas, beach restaurant. Stone beach on the break line is easily accessible and provides a shallow slope in the water, making it knee-deep with a pleasant temperature and transparency that allows for occasional sightings of fish. The sand quality is poor, however, the beach has excellent showers, surveillance and services, and is relatively clean.
