Playa del Velerin is located on the Alboran Sea (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 113th place out of 135 beaches in the Malaga region 67 km away from its center, the city of Malaga. It is one of the beaches of Laguna Village settlement, just 1.7 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area.

It is a long lasting coastline with and gray sand, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, seniors etc. It is not crowded place during the season.

The beach isn't great - it's just ok. To get there, you have to navigate the highways from Malaga or the city, or slog along the coast. It's clean and tidy, but the water isn't particularly clear and the sand is nothing special. Plus, there are exclusive apartments nearby, so you'll have to put up with the wealthy. The crowds aren't too bad, but the walkway above the beach is just asphalt and benches - not much to look at.
