Praia da Calada is located on the North Atlantic Ocean (part of Atlantic ocean) and it is in the 36th place out of 84 beaches in the Lisbon Area region 43.6 km away from its center, the city of Lisbon. It is one of the beaches of Valongo settlement, just 1 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area, among the mountains, surrounded by the cliffs.

It is a spacious bay with crystal turquoise water and pure bright fine sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is quite sharp. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, pet owners etc. It is not crowded place during the season.

The beach has beautiful fine sand. However, despite clear signage, the behavior of some beach-goers is disappointing. Additionally, although there is ample good parking available, many choose to park in non-designated areas, creating potential hazards for all.

This beach is truly remarkable! The accessibility and parking are top-notch. However, the most outstanding feature is the lack of cell phone reception (although an emergency phone is available on site). This allows for quality time with loved ones, free from the distractions of technology.
