Great Sand beach is located on the Aegean Sea (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 139th place out of 348 beaches in the Thessaly region 135.8 km away from its center, the city of Larissa. It is one of the beaches of Isiomata settlement, just 2.5 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place, among the mountains.

It is a small bay with crystal turquoise water and gray fine pebble, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is not crowded place during the season.

Great Sand beach coast is free for all. This beach has the following amenities, loungers and umbrellas. Daily boat rental service is located nearby.

In addition to swimming and sunbathing, you can also take part in other activities. There are also some surf spots.

This beach is easily accessible, it is located very close to road. Parking is located at some distance, within 300 meters.

The path leading to this beach is quite challenging as it is a narrow dirt road that may mislead you if you rely solely on Google Maps. Moreover, the passage from the dirt track to the beach is not very clear. However, once you reach the beach, you will find it to be completely undeveloped, with no sunbeds, shops, or tavernas. On the bright side, we were the only ones there when we arrived, which made for a peaceful and serene experience. The only downside was the slightly eerie feeling of being watched by a lady with binoculars from her villa above.

The beach offers of its pristine natural beauty, with its vivid emerald waters and a plethora of multicolored pebbles. However, reaching the beach can be a tad challenging, especially if you're driving a low car. The last leg of the journey requires driving at a snail's pace for about 10 minutes, and once you reach the end of the road, there is no designated parking area. We had to park our car on someone's property and walk through a forest for 2-3 minutes to finally reach the beach. Once there, we were delighted to find sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, and the Ammos Beach Villas offered refreshments such as coffee and water.
