I embarked on a journey from Komiza, but be warned that it takes about an hour on foot. The path is quite undulating, with hills and valleys to traverse. The scenery is breathtaking, but your ability to enjoy it may depend on your physical endurance. It's crucial to bring ample water supply, as I found that two liters were insufficient for the round trip. Despite the challenging hike, the swim was well worth it. The beach was sparsely populated, providing a serene atmosphere, and there were plenty of shaded areas to relax.
This petite beach boasts a breathtaking sunset and ample shade for a comfortable retreat. Ideal for a brief afternoon visit or an evening excursion to witness the stunning sunset. However, be mindful of pesky mosquitoes that may interrupt your peaceful getaway. Accessible by a scenic hiking trail that takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes from Komiža.
It took us approximately an hour to stroll from Komiza, but the scenic walk along the coastline was truly delightful, especially when following the marked trail (Google Maps can assist if you set it to walking mode). We were pleasantly surprised to find a secluded stony beach, where we were the only visitors and enjoyed the natural shade it offered.
Mamma Mia Beach is a charming and secluded destination that offers a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The only way to reach the beach is via boat or by navigating a winding path from Komiza. While the boat ride is a bit pricey, the journey is well worth it as the beach is a true hidden gem. For those who prefer to hike, the path to the beach is quite challenging and can take up to an hour to complete. It is important to wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water, as the trail can be steep and rocky at times. Although the route is marked, there are a few spots where it is easy to get lost. To avoid any confusion, it is recommended to use Google maps or mark the return route when you join the gravel road. Once you arrive at Mamma Mia Beach, you will be rewarded with stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. The cove is typically deserted before noon, making it the perfect spot to relax and soak up the sun. With its natural shade and crystal-clear waters, this beach is a must-visit for anyone seeking a tranquil and picturesque escape.
This pebble beach is renowned for its appearance in the film Mamma Mia II. It is most easily accessed by boat, but if you're feeling adventurous, traveling by jeep, quad, or e-bike is also an option. However, be prepared for a challenging journey as it takes about an hour to reach the beach from either City Vis or Komiza. Despite the difficulty of getting there, the beach's natural beauty and unique atmosphere make it well worth the effort.
