The beach in Split is a delightful spot, conveniently located just a short stroll away from the historic Split Old Town. Although it is a well-liked destination, it may not be the cleanest due to its popularity. You may notice some litter and cigarette butts scattered about, as well as individuals smoking. Nevertheless, the location is excellent, and the water is refreshing and enjoyable for swimming. Even in September and October, the temperature is not too chilly for a dip. Additionally, there are a few restaurants in the vicinity, adding to the overall pleasant atmosphere.
There are numerous dining options in the vicinity. The ocean is quite pleasant. However, it is advisable to remain on the concrete areas as the sandy portion is quite littered with cigarette butts and garbage. Additionally, there are a few suitable locations for jumping into the water.
I must admit, the beach I visited was far from impressive. The water was murky and contaminated from its close proximity to the port, and the seaweed that washed up on shore only added to the unpleasantness. To make matters worse, there were no lifeguards on duty to ensure the safety of swimmers. The sand was more like mud than anything else, and I refrained from taking a dip in the water for fear of getting sick. I would strongly advise against choosing this beach as your destination for a refreshing swim.
The beach lacks sand and is covered in hard mud, which is not very pleasant to walk on. The entire area could use some improvement in terms of cleanliness and aesthetics, especially in a stunning city like Split. However, the water is a redeeming quality as it is crystal clear and not too deep, making it perfect for children to safely enjoy up to 20 meters from the shoreline. It would be a great addition if efforts were made to enhance the overall appearance and comfort of the beach.
This beach is undoubtedly one of the most exceptional in the world. With its fine, powdery sand, crystal-clear waters, and shallow depth, it is the perfect destination for families and sun worshippers alike. The beach is also home to a plethora of beach bars and restaurants, making it an excellent spot for those who enjoy a bit of seaside indulgence. However, it is worth noting that this is a public beach, and there are no sun loungers or umbrellas available. Nevertheless, we came prepared with padded mats to ensure that we could relax in comfort without having to lay directly on the sand.
