Calm, measured rest and the sound of waves are perhaps the most common associations that arise with the word "beach". This is not surprising, as relaxation is exactly what many beach travelers are looking for. If you associate your vacation primarily with such activity, choose one of the 233 beaches in the country.

To make your choice easier, we have prepared a list of the best beaches for relaxation in Philippines.

Attraction and Infrastructure

As for the main features of the beaches of Philippines, they are as follows:

  • The country's beaches are mainly narrow, moderate length and have a high level of cleanliness. The most common surface is sand of bright color.
  • Usually, entry into the water is gentle, which is very good for kids. There are 149 such beaches.
  • An important clarification, 117 beaches in the country have a long intertidal zone, which means that during low tide hours you may have to travel a considerable distance. This is also something to consider if you don't want to suddenly be in the water at high tide.
  • Some beach bays can be densely occupied by motor boats or yachts, which usually negatively affects water pollution. There are about 61 beaches in Philippines, where a significant number of ships can be observed from time to time.
  • The average distance from the road to beach in Philippines is less than 500 meters. 162 beaches are relatively easy to access, and 71 beaches are only accessible from the water. The latter include both island beaches and beaches with no land routes due to the natural borders.

Wild beaches with no infrastructure dominate the coastline of Philippines however, even here you can find a beach with a standard set of accessories: sun beds, umbrellas, restaurants, showers and toilets.

Latest reviews on Philippines's beaches

Secret Beach II
10 Dwardy

This was our final stop on Tour C. To get here, we had to swim a considerable distance. Because we arrived in the late afternoon, the waves were larger, which added an extra challenge to the swim. However, it was definitely worth it.

Palilo Beach
10 Vincent Ferraro

We really enjoyed this beach as an alternative stop for Tour C on windy days! It's a great spot for snorkelling since it's well protected.

Arac Beach

We had a fantastic day trip to this beach. Just be aware that the road leading to the resort is quite narrow. However, the resort offers parking spaces for guests. The area may not be very large, but it is well-maintained and clean. They serve delicious food and drinks, but you are also allowed to bring your own (with corkage fee). If you wish to stay overnight, they have casitas available, and they even have a function hall for events. As for activities, you can enjoy floating on a balsa, riding a water pedal bike, kayaking, and even take a boat service to miracle island.

Punta Ballo Beach

The highlights of our stay were the well-maintained swimming pool and the beautiful view from the restaurant. However, we were disappointed by the lack of upkeep and the ongoing construction, which caused disturbances such as loud banging noises. We even overheard a heated argument between a man and a woman on the beach. While Punta Ballo Beach may appear appealing from a distance, we were disappointed to find a significant amount of litter and unsuitable conditions for swimming due to the shallow and rocky water. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but I would recommend waiting until the construction is completed, possibly around 2024, if you plan on visiting Punta Ballo.

Alito Beach
10 Evelyn Portenkirchner

This beach is a great spot to unwind and enjoy some peace and quiet away from the crowds. It's a hidden gem on the island and the owners were very friendly and accommodating. The entrance fee of 30 Pesos per person seems reasonable. Additionally, they offer cooking services upon request and have a wide variety of drinks available. We suggest using a dirt bike to reach the beach as the road can be quite rough.

Nelia's Pandan Beach
2 T-Cas

To begin with, Kamayan is not just a restaurant, but also a place to stay. The bathroom is of extremely low quality and the presence of three cockroaches is quite distressing. Additionally, the room has a strong, unpleasant smell of humidity and there was karaoke singing until 3am.

Please note that lifeguards supervise 17 beaches in the country, but you should rely on more than just them, remember the elementary rules, as lifeguards are not on duty around the clock, even on equipped beaches!

Finding hotels in relative proximity to the beaches is usually fine. Many beaches have enough nearby accommodation, which gives good opportunities to choose the right place to stay.
