Be cautious of street vendors selling larimar jewelry made of sterling silver as you leave the ferry. My spouse and I were scammed out of $200. Despite being labeled as 925 silver, the plating wore off within a week, revealing the copper beneath. Avoid purchasing silver pieces from these vendors.
