Traverse City boasts a small, yet tranquil beach. However, securing a parking spot in the limited beach parking lot may prove to be quite challenging, as it can only accommodate around 25 to 30 vehicles. Additionally, there is a restroom available, although it lacks proper hygiene.
The beach had an incredible view and was perfect for kids to have fun. It was also dog-friendly, which was a great bonus. Additionally, there was a grill available, making it easy to prepare and enjoy delicious hot dogs.
The swimming area is small, but the beach is spacious with a good amount of sand, and it's not overly crowded. Additionally, there's a pleasant playground.
It's a great spot to watch the sunset, but it's a public beach and unfortunately, it tends to attract some unruly individuals. Surprisingly, these people weren't even tourists. One woman let her wet dog run all muddy across the blanket I had laid down, which was absolutely disgusting. She even went on to throw a stick for the dog into the water, proving why most beaches have a no-dog policy. There were also a lot of rowdy teenagers causing trouble, throwing rocks, splashing around, and engaging in inappropriate conversations. The town itself is charming and quaint, but these troublemakers really disrupted the peaceful atmosphere. If your dogs and children don't know how to behave, please keep them on a leash!
The beach is absolutely gorgeous! 😍 There is limited parking available, but around 15 spots are available. The bathrooms are well-maintained and clean. The beach has soft sand, and the water is ideal for young children as it is shallow with a sandy bottom. It's a wonderful spot for a picnic, playing beach games, or simply capturing a beautiful sunset photo. 🌊 ☀️😎
