It is a long lasting coastline with crystal turquoise water and light sand & pebble cover, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. When driving there it looks like you're going to a dead end residential road. It's on the right and beautiful! Too bad it's closed for the season.

My 2nd favorite lighthouse in Michigan. Grand Haven is my #1! Beach was covered in beautiful flat white rocks polished by lake Michigan. I love to rock hunt and at this location you can find lots of fossils including Petoskey stones 😀 The visitor center was closed when I was visiting. The lighthouse is stunning in person! I would reccomend anyone on a lighthouse or rock hunting adventure!

This is a beautiful place just north of Frankfort on M-22. To access the lighthouse and attached museum there is a small charge (this goes for upkeep) well worth it. You can go up in the tower as well. The grounds are very nice and the sunset here is breathtaking. The access to the lighthouse is only during the warmer months you can visit the beach right next to it whenever. If you are going for sunset in the summer get there early and bring some drinks!

Parking is roadside, but it’s a quick walk. There is no bathroom, as the actual lighthouse was closed. The beach was absolutely beautiful, and the scenery around the lighthouse was stunning. Walking down the path, you can just tell it’s worth a trip.
