We were overjoyed to stumble upon this hidden gem of a beach. The scenery was breathtakingly gorgeous and the waves were just right for a day of fun in the sun. Unfortunately, our snorkeling adventure didn't yield much success as we only spotted one species of fish. On top of that, the parking situation was less than ideal and we had to rely on luck to secure a spot. But in the end, we were fortunate enough to score a spot just as someone was leaving.
Arguably the most exceptional beach in Oahu, although it can become quite crowded at times. We opted to park in the initial $10 lot on the opposite side of the highway, accessible via the Botanical Gardens drive. A simple stroll awaits, but one must be cautious when crossing the highway, which can be perilous. It is highly recommended to use the pedestrian bridge rather than the highway bridge. Summer months are ideal for swimming, while winter months offer a chance to observe the courageous surfers. Our visit in July proved to be the perfect time for a refreshing swim. As for the wildlife, we were fortunate enough to spot a variety of creatures, including chickens, Kona cardinals, wild pigs, and the typical assortment of Hawaiian birds.
This stretch of coastline boasts one of my preferred beaches. It's a true gem, but do keep in mind that parking can be a bit tricky, so it's best to arrive early to secure a spot.
I visited this beach today for a refreshing swim, but finding a parking spot was quite a challenge. However, once I managed to secure a spot, the experience was nothing short of enchanting. Although the waves were not present, the water was incredibly clear and inviting. It's important to note that the sand can get quite hot, so bringing along some protective footwear is a must. Additionally, it's advisable to bring a shade tent or umbrella to shield oneself from the sun's rays. This beach is an excellent spot for those who enjoy jumping into the water from rocks, and overall, it was a fantastic day out that I would rate with five stars.
Nestled away on Oahu's North Shore, this beach is undoubtedly one of the finest. However, parking can be a bit of a hassle. There is a conventional lot, but it fills up quickly each day, and there is street parking leading up both hills. A lifeguard is regularly on duty here, so it's essential to follow their rules. Bathrooms are available on-site and are relatively clean. The sand is exquisite, and the water is fantastic. In the winter months, waves can be high, making it unsuitable for swimming. Still, if you're an experienced surfer, you can give it a try. So, take your time here, relax, and enjoy the serene surroundings.
