The beach is situated on the west side of Oahu and requires a lengthy drive on highway 93, the sole one-way highway on the island. The journey takes you through several neighborhoods, so if you're traveling with family, be prepared for a long ride. The west side is also home to a large homeless population, especially on the beaches. However, once you arrive, you'll be rewarded with a peaceful and serene environment. The beach boasts unique rock formations that are worth exploring, and the beaches themselves are perfect for a leisurely stroll. Although some reviews mentioned sightings of animals, we weren't so lucky. Nevertheless, this is a place that deserves a revisit in hopes of spotting some wildlife.
In my opinion, there's no beach better than this one on Oahu. It's definitely worth the hour-long drive from Waikiki. There's a lifeguard on duty and the scenery is everything you'd expect from Hawaii. And the best part? It's hardly ever crowded.
This beach is a fantastic spot to unwind and admire the crashing waves, and it's not overly crowded. However, some days the waves are too rough for swimming. Additionally, there's an excellent surf spot located near the lifeguard's station. Even though I'm not a surfer, I observed around twenty people enjoying themselves in the water.
This beach is a hidden gem that offers a true nature experience. The sand is pristine, with a deep and plush texture that feels like a cushion.
Keawaula Beach, located on the north west side of Oahu, is a hidden gem at the end of the road. The beach is not crowded, giving us the luxury of having most of the beach to ourselves. It's interesting to note that the Space Force has a base there, and one can only imagine how difficult it must be to be stationed on a beach in Hawaii. Our hearts went out to the Space Force personnel.
