I went to the beach specifically for the sunset, and it definitely lived up to my expectations. On a Wednesday night, I had to wait for around 15 minutes, but it was worth it. For the majority of the time, I had the rocks near the lagoon all to myself. The sunset was absolutely stunning and fulfilled its purpose.
The Marriott Vacation Club balcony offers breathtaking views. Lagoon number four is like a slice of paradise, with its crystal-clear water perfect for swimming, and even scuba diving or snorkeling. The beach provides a picturesque backdrop, with convenient amenities such as rentals, umbrellas, and cabanas, available to all visitors.
This is a great spot to bring the kids. The beach is incredibly peaceful and there's plenty of space. There are numerous free parking spots available, and paid parking is conveniently located nearby. If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Waikiki and enjoy a relaxing time with your family, this is the perfect place. Make sure to bring some food and drinks, as I didn't come across any food options since it's a resort.
After visiting other beaches in Oahu, I wasn't particularly fond of the Ko Olina lagoons, whether it was due to their artificial nature or the completely calm water. It felt more like being at a Waterpark rather than enjoying an outdoor beach experience. However, there were some positive aspects such as the convenient availability of ample parking, on-site bathrooms, and showers. Snorkeling is also possible there, making it an ideal spot for beginners or families with kids. It seemed like this beach and its water were specifically designed for children, which is a great feature if you have little ones. Personally, I didn't stay for long since it didn't suit my preferences.
This beach is a fantastic spot for the whole family to enjoy a fun-filled day by the sea! You can experience the same beach atmosphere without the hassles of Waikiki. Moreover, there is an abundance of shallow water, perfect for allowing small children to have some independence while still being safe. They can have a blast and feel like grown-ups without constant supervision. The breathtaking views and stunning rock formations add to the beauty of this place. The only downside is the presence of rocks in the sand, so it's advisable to bring water shoes for standing on the rocks and flip flops for walking on the hot sand. Overall, I highly recommend this beach for an unforgettable family day out.
