I believe it was simply an unfortunate day when I visited, but it truly encapsulated the essence of a typical UK beach experience, resembling the initial episode of a series of unfortunate events. The weather was foggy and damp, making it difficult to see the beach, but it still held a certain charm and intrigue. However, it definitely didn't give off the vibes of summertime. On a positive note, there were plenty of ice cream trucks and snack stands to choose from, so it's a must to try at least one ice cream truck for the full experience.
The beach is absolutely amazing, but it's unfortunate that the council carpark offers no amenities and still demands a hefty fee for parking on our own property. However, it's a perfect spot for dog owners and leisurely walks. Getting there is quite convenient, and it's an excellent place for swimming.
This beach in Porthcawl is probably the best one they have, mainly because of its large size and stunning bay views. Out of all the beaches I've been to, this is the one I've spent the most time at. It provides a more peaceful and enjoyable experience, with clearer waters compared to Sandy Bay.
There is a beach near Porthcawl that offers a payable car park right next to it, where you can pay using the machine upon parking. The surface of the car park is quite uneven. The main access point to the beach is located near the entrance of the car park and has a ramp that leads down to the beach. When the tide is not high, the beach has a significant amount of hard sand, but there is also a small area with soft sand near the bottom of the slope. Dogs are permitted on this beach.
The beach is absolutely lovely for taking a stroll with your furry friends, as it is a wonderfully dog-friendly beach with a peaceful atmosphere. Occasionally during the summer, you may have the incredible opportunity to witness the mesmerizing bioluminescent plankton on those dark nights.
