A pristine expanse of coastline awaits at this stunning beach, boasting a velvety-soft sand that will have you sinking in with delight. The charming cafe and top-notch amenities make for a comfortable and enjoyable visit. The shallow waters are perfect for young ones to splash around in, while the East head invites furry friends to join in the fun. It's no wonder this beach is considered the crowning jewel of Sussex. Just be sure to reserve your parking spot ahead of time, as this destination is a popular one. Personally, I find myself enamored with this spot every time I visit.
The beach is absolutely delightful, and it's a relief that you can easily find a parking spot for a fee. The ability to reserve a spot and arrive at your convenience is a bonus. I would have given this beach a perfect score of 5 stars if not for the unfortunate experience we had yesterday. After waiting in line for an hour to order fish and chips, we were informed that they had run out of fish. We were famished and disappointed, especially since one would expect a beachside establishment to have plenty of fish, given its popularity. To our dismay, they were sold out by early afternoon, which is why I had to dock a star from my rating.
This beach is truly amazing, offering ample parking with security patrols and automated ANPR for hassle-free access. No matter where you park, you'll find all the necessary facilities just a few steps away. From an on-site cafe to ice cream shops and souvenir stores, everything is within reach. The lifeguards are incredibly helpful and always on patrol, providing updates and safety announcements to ensure everyone's well-being. The beach can get crowded at times, and it's not uncommon for people to set up camp right beside you, but that's just part of the experience. The scenery is breathtaking, and the beach has a shallow shoreline that's perfect for kids to play in when the tide is in. Stick to the safety flags and follow standard safety measures, and you'll have a great time with the lifeguards keeping a watchful eye. Take a short stroll to the sailing club, and you'll find a fantastic crabbing pool. Drop in some smoked bacon, and you'll almost always catch something. It's a great activity for kids and a fun way to spend the day. My wife absolutely adores this beach, and it's easy to see why.
My go-to destination for creating incredible sand sculptures is this beach. The gentle incline of the shore makes it an ideal spot for paddling and swimming without any worry. The cafe here stands out amongst other seaside joints with their superior coffee offerings. Although the parking lot requires a day fee, it is reasonably priced and can be booked beforehand, especially during a sunny bank holiday. The beach is dog-friendly, but certain areas prohibit dogs depending on the season. Finally, there are well-maintained restroom facilities and outdoor showers available for your convenience to rinse off the sand before heading home.
Despite the windy and chilly weather, our visit to the beach was absolutely stunning. Although it was winter, there were still a fair number of people out enjoying the scenery. We were delighted to discover that dogs were allowed on the beach during the winter months, and we happily took a stroll along the shore with our furry companions. When the tide is in, there is a path at the top of the beach that offers incredible views. We can only imagine how much more bustling and beautiful this beach would be during the summer months. Additionally, the parking lot provided convenient access to toilet facilities. Overall, we had a wonderful day out and would highly recommend this beach to anyone looking for a peaceful and picturesque escape.
