This expansive shoreline boasts a lengthy stretch of fine sand and crystal-clear waters. The northern portion of the beach offers a more serene atmosphere, while the central area is bustling with a plethora of dining and drinking options. Savoring a meal al fresco on the beach is a beloved pastime. Despite the pandemic, the beach remains tranquil, though it's possible that activity will resume in the future.
The beach stretches out for an impressive distance, making it the longest on the island of Ko Chang, in my opinion. Despite its popularity, it maintains a peaceful ambiance that allows for solitary evening strolls. The shoreline is lined with numerous cafes and shops, some of which provide seating options right on the sand.
This beach located on the west coast of Koh Chang is a serene and pleasant spot. The sand is fine-grained and not littered with rocks or debris, making it a clean and inviting place to relax. While there are a few dogs milling about, they are mostly sleeping and won't disturb your peace. The water is perfect for swimming, with no visible rips or hazards. If you want to take a break from the sun, there are deckchairs available for rent under the shade of nearby trees. Despite the passage of time, this beach remains as charming as it was 25 years ago. However, it's important to note that there are no public restrooms available and parking on the narrow road can be challenging.
As you park your motorcycle at the SevenEleven Shop, a picturesque path leads you to the beach. The Southern end of the beach is bustling with crowds, restaurants, and a plethora of activities. However, my heart lies in the Northern End, where the White Sands Beach Resort is nestled. You can take a leisurely stroll up the beach to reach this secluded paradise, which is separated from the South End by a rocky outcrop jutting into the sea. Once you traverse the restaurant on this rocky outcrop and navigate a slightly precarious walkway secured to the side of the rock, you will discover the most idyllic part of this beach. Here, only a handful of beach huts dot the shoreline, all belonging to the White Sands Beach Resort.
Ko Chang boasts of a beach that I hold dear to my heart. The beach is a perfect blend of local bars where the owners and staff are warm and welcoming, and good restaurants and massage shops located within easy walking distance. The accommodation options are also diverse, ranging from luxurious hotels to affordable beach bungalows that cater to every budget.
