Lamai Beach is located on the Gulf of Thailand (part of South China Sea) and it is in the 5th place out of 95 beaches in the Surat Thani region 86.8 km away from its center, the city of Surat Thani. It is one of the beaches of Baan Lamai settlement, just 0.9 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area with very picturesque views, among the mountains. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a long lasting coastline with crystal turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, seniors etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

A significant part of the beach has a restricted access. The beach facilities are only available to hotel guests. Their list includes, loungers and umbrellas, beach restaurant. During the season this beach line is supervised by a lifeguard.

Please note, that this shore has a significant low tide.

In addition to swimming and sunbathing, you can also take part in other activities, sup-surfing.

Fans of active recreation can take part in beach volleyball.

This beach is easily accessible, it is located very close to road. Parking is located directly on the beach.

The beach is stunning, and there are charming bars and shops dotted along the coastline. However, the area is heavily littered with plastic bottles, old clothes, and other debris, which is a shame. If it weren't for the garbage, I would have rated it five stars without hesitation.

Lamai beach is a great spot to visit on Samui island. I've been here twice and I really enjoy it. It's easy to access and has everything you need. Right now, it's a bit quiet due to repairs after COVID, but I think it will be bustling with tourists again soon. Most hotels, restaurants, bars, and businesses around Lamai beach and Samui are open and welcoming visitors. I highly recommend this paradise for a beautiful beach getaway.
