Bang Tao Beach is located on the Andaman Sea (part of Indian ocean) and it is in the 7th place out of 70 beaches in the Phuket region 16.8 km away from its center, the city of Phuket. It is one of the beaches of Choeng Thale settlement, just 2.2 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area with very picturesque views. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a long lasting coastline with crystal turquoise water and pure bright fine sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, families with children, seniors etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

A significant part of the beach has a restricted access. The beach facilities are only available to hotel guests. Their list includes, loungers and umbrellas, beach restaurant, toilets, sea pool. There is also possible to take different water activities such as catamarans or jet skis. During the season this beach line is supervised by a lifeguard.

In addition to swimming and sunbathing, you can also take part in other activities, sea kayaking.

Fans of active recreation can take part in beach volleyball.

This beach is easily accessible, it is located very close to road. Parking is located directly on the beach.

This beach is quite lengthy, yet not very developed. It's nothing extraordinary. Having been to some of the stunning beaches in Australia, this one is just alright. Watching the sunset here is quite pleasant, but other than that, it's just a regular beach.

This beach is quite tranquil. There are plenty of spots with shade. Unfortunately, it looks a bit forlorn and disheveled these days, with a large area of boats at the entrance. The sand isn't as soft as it could be due to the conifers that encircle the area. There are places to grab a bite or a beverage.
