When the waves are calm, there's plenty of sand to relax on and the water is crystal clear - perfect for a dip. But when the tide comes in, all that's left are rocks. So keep an eye on the tide if you want to make the most of the beach. Sadly, when the sea is choppy, there's no beach at all - even at low tide. Thankfully, I had the luck of good weather when I visited.
I often take a stroll to the beach, although swimming is a bit of a challenge. Thankfully, they've put in a ramp to make it easier to get into the water. Still, I love the sunbathing area to unwind.
This place is quite blustery and stony, located near the airport. It's a great spot for camping and enjoying the outdoors.
I was less than thrilled when I found out I was staying near this beach. On my first morning, I dragged myself out to catch the sunrise like all the other locals, and was met with a rather dull scene.
Playa de Vargas is the perfect spot for a relaxing day in the sun. The windy conditions make it ideal for kite and windsurfing. The natural beauty of the beach is a great backdrop for a peaceful day of fun. The hot temperatures make it a great place to cool off and take in the sights.
