I wouldn't recommend visiting this beach. There is a homeless encampment and the water is contaminated due to the nearby oil refinery. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because it turned into a funny story and my friends and I had a good time laughing about it. Additionally, the people next to us had a cute bunny with them.
This beach, which seems to mainly serve as a home for the homeless (judging by the presence of tents), has the potential to be a hidden gem in the city. However, regrettably, it appears that nobody pays much attention to this place.
Is this beach known for being dirty and having unpleasant odors, with several areas being used as makeshift toilets?
This beach in Santa Cruz is quite possibly the worst I've ever been to. It's a big disappointment considering it's the main city of the entire Canary Islands and this is the closest beach to the city. I'm not only disappointed, but also disgusted. Thankfully, the smell isn't as bad as the overall experience. However, you can still appreciate the view.
The beach is not easily accessible as it is nestled within a hiking path and the walls of a few restaurants. To reach the beach, you need to walk towards the right side of the Auditorium, take the stairs that will lead you to some restaurants (specifically Ruta Grill), and continue straight until you spot the beach.
