Playa de Punta Umbria is located on the Gulf of Cadiz (part of North Atlantic Ocean) and it is in the 12th place out of 21 beaches in the Huelva region 9.4 km away from its center, the city of Huelva. It is one of the beaches of El Cerrito settlement, just 0.5 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area.

It is a long lasting coastline with green water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

That place is a sight to behold! The sand is golden and ultra-fine, stretching out wide and clean. It's a great spot for families with kids since the ocean is shallow for quite some distance. I was amazed at how the Atlantic Ocean can be warmer than the Mediterranean in June. Don't forget to bring along your flip-flops or rubber shoes, as there are plenty of shells to be found!

Playa de Punta Umbria is anything but relaxing. The sand is hot and uncomfortable, and the water is far too cold to enjoy. There's nothing special about the scenery, and it's far too crowded to really enjoy the peace and quiet. All in all, it's a far cry from the beautiful beach it's advertised as.
