I had a great time at the beach; it was practically deserted, except for a treasure hunter who showed up. The tide was high, so the entire beach was wet, making it impossible to sunbathe. Fortunately, there were toilets and changing rooms, which was very convenient.
Miami Beach, located in Batu Ferringgi, Penang, stretches between Shamrock Beach to the east and Moonlight Bay to the west. Paying homage to Miami Beach in Florida, this area was a popular destination for picnicking and camping in the 1960s and early 70s. However, it has since been altered by property development. Despite this, it remains a great spot for camping, picnicking, and swimming.
This beach is tranquil and serene, with changing rooms and restrooms available for after swimming in the ocean. There are also kiosks where you can purchase snacks and trinkets. However, be mindful of the strong waves.
I've been visiting this beach for 8 years now, and the last 3 steps of the concrete stairs leading down to the beach have been in disrepair for a long time, yet those responsible for public amenities and safety have done nothing to fix them (see photo of the dangerous broken steps). This part of Ferringhi beach is really beautiful. There are a lot of pigeons and crows, so be careful as they do tend to leave droppings everywhere, including on your belongings - but that's nature, nothing you can do about it. It's great to see beachgoers taking care of their own rubbish. There are plenty of stalls here selling all the essentials for a day at the beach.
Located within walking distance from home, this beach is a great spot for jogging, dog walking, picnicking, and simply relaxing. I usually go on weekdays to avoid the crowds that come during school holidays and weekends. It is important to park your car responsibly, rather than parking it on the side of the road. We should all be aware of how to park our vehicles properly. Please take care of the environment and do not litter, even though there is a large trash bin that is visible. We should all be mindful of the safety protocols in place and follow them.
